The Circolo Fotografico Palmarino or Palmarino Photography Club, boasts more than 40 years of history; it was founded in 1975 in Palmanova, the "Star-shaped City", by several enthusiasts, amongst which was the current Honorary Chairman Gino Ottomeni.
The association meets every Monday evening at 8.30 pm at its headquarters in Via Marcello. There are about 90 members from all over the region and, in some case, from the nearby region of Veneto, with some members even coming from abroad.
It often works with Palmanova Outlet Village on various initiatives and event coverage. It organises theme nights, multi-screenings, meetings and interviews with established authors, photography book presentations, exhibitions and other initiatives aimed at promoting and spreading the art of photography.
What is more, for the past 10 years the CFP has been organising its famous photography and photo editing courses for beginners, and for some time has also been working alongside the photo lab of Palmanova’s CSM.
During 2016 it has already been, or will be, with its own dedicated evenings, a guest at the prestigious 15th Diaponatura in San Donà di Piave, at the Obiettivo Burano photo club, at the Fotoamatori Mestrini amateur photographers’ club and at "Nature in Photo", a photographic event that will be held between Marano Lagunare and Muzzana del Turgnano. In September its members will be displaying their best works in an exhibition entitled "Naturalmente FVG" at the international "Bio Photo Festival" in Budoia.
Last but not least, the CFP has its own free and very popular photography forum, a meeting place for more than 700 enthusiasts and a blog with technical articles, interviews and much more: www.cfpalmarino.it
